Wine of intense ruby color.
Beautifully structured wine has a wonderful balance of velvety tannins and bright acidity. Rich fruity taste gradually transformed into a well-pronounced mineral finish.
Exquisite bouquet presents exciting flavors of cherries, spicy spices and sandalwood.
Wine is best suited to accompany Asian dishes, poultry and game. It is also good to use in combination with solid low-fat cheeses, white meat and mushrooms.
Interesting Facts
Red wine Clos St. Denis Grand Cru is made from Pinot Noir grown in the vineyard of Morey-St-Denis. The berries are collected and sorted by hand and is slow natural fermentation. Subsequently, the wort is placed in oak casks new (France) and maintained for about 18 months.
Domaine Bertagna, founded in 1940 by Claude Bertani - a Frenchman who came from Algeria, now owned by the family of the famous wine-Gunther Reh, who own several other wineries in different parts of the world. The estate is located in the small town of Vougeot, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy.
Bertani domain owned vineyards with a total area of 24 hectares, with 23 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir, 1 hectare put on Chardonnay. Vineyards domain is a 25 appellations, of which 5 - Class Grand Cru, 7 - Premier Cru and one monopole vineyard - Vougeot Premier Cru "Clos de la Perriere". Basically, there are small areas in Côte de Nuits vineyard and only two - in the Côte de Beaune.
Prior to 1999, chief winemaker Domain Bertani was Roland Mass, who is now chief winemaker famous "Hospices de Beaune". In his place, Eva Reh-Seeley invited the young Claire Forrest, who has worked on many farms California, South Africa and France. Claire had some modifications in the process of wine production - first of all, to reduce the use of new oak barrels to 50% for wines and Grand Premiers Crus and 25% for conventional regional wines. Now the winery is equipped with the latest technology. Team work winemakers only women, producing delicate fruity wine, they bring warmth and part of his soul. More than 80% of the wines are exported to other countries, the rest is sold to private individuals in France.
