Domaine Bertagna , founded in the 1940s by Claude Bertagna, a Frenchman who came from Algeria, is now owned by the famous Günther-Rech winemaking family, who own several other wineries in different parts of the world. The estate is located in the small town of Vougeot, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in Burgundy. Domain Bertagna owns vineyards with a total area of 24 hectares, with 23 hectares planted with Pinot Noir and 1 hectare devoted to Chardonnay. The domaine's vineyards are located in 25 appellations, of which 5 are Grand Cru, 7 are Premier Cru and one exclusive vineyard is Vougeot Premier Cru "Clos de la Perriere". Mostly small plots are located in the Côte de Nuits and only two vineyards in the Côte de Beaune.

Until 1999, the head winemaker of Domain Bertagna was Roland Mass, who is now the head winemaker of the famous "Hospices de Beaune".
