Producer's description

The old Giesen brothers, natives of Germany, there were winemakers, but the career of their ancestors somehow intersected with wine. Family members took part in the culinary and wine trades were sommeliers and restaurateurs. And the boys in my childhood was considered a hobby grapes. When the older brothers Alex and Theo made a trip to Australia and then to New Zealand, they fell in love with this land. Brothers noticed a limited range of wines available at a local wine store, with most bottles had a warmer North Island of New Zealand. Alex and Theo noted that the cooler climate of the South Island is an ideal place for the cultivation of some varieties, for example - Riesling. This idea prompted them to buy in the first section of Burnham on the outskirts of Christchurch.

After obtaining a degree in winemaking brothers joined Marseille. Common business values and love for wine prompted the brothers to create a winery Giesen. Starting out as a "small fish in a small industry," the brothers have worked purposefully to the fact that they love, so bring your passion for wine in each bottle, to which touched. Today the winery Giesen is proud to be working around the Marlborough region. Each member of the team Giesen contributes to creating and maintaining the reputation of the name of Giesen worldwide. The portfolio of wineries are four ranges, which offer top-quality wines for all occasions.
