It has a shiny burgundy-brown color, creamy brown foam, delicate aroma and rich, drinkable taste with tones of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate shades. Producer's description
The Zötler Private Brewery is the oldest family-owned brewery in the world! The June 2004 issue of the Euro business magazine listed the oldest family businesses in the world. It shows that the privately-owned Zötler brewery is ranked 10th among family-owned businesses still in existence worldwide. With no breweries in the top 9 positions, Zotler has become the oldest family-owned brewery in the world, more than 570 years old. It was founded in 1447. Zotler's recent history began in 1920 thanks to Herbert Zotler. His wife Maria Zotler, with the help of energetic employees, managed to save the brewery during the Second World War. Production after the war was 2,500 hl, but in the early 1980s, production statistics recorded 75,000 hectoliters.
Today, the Zotler brewery brews first-class specialty beers in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Brewing Act. She fights to preserve the Bavarian beer culture and also sees it as her responsibility to pass on knowledge of local brewing to the next generation.
