Producer's description
The Valjevska Pivara brewery was founded in 1860. The founder of the brewery in Valevo was the Valevo merchant Dimitry Mitrovich. The company not only brewed beer, but also worked as an artisan workshop for the production of wooden barrels and other handicrafts. The brewery has been able to expand and develop thanks to the participation of other merchants as partners. The constant growth of the brewery allowed it to become a joint-stock company in 1891. The advent of the steam engine in 1910 marked a turning point in industrial beer production. After the Second World War, in 1947, the company was nationalized and became the state property of Parna brewery "Edinstvo", and then functioned as a public property under the name "Valevo". Since 2000 the company has been operating as "Valjevska Pivara". Since 2019, the Brauerei Group from Belgrade has become the owner of Valjevska Pivara, whose main activity is the production of beer and soft drinks.
