Single malt whiskey "Omar" Single Malt (Bourbon Type) produced distillery Nantou Distillery, located on the island of Taiwan. Distillates from high-quality barley malt are aged in barrels of bourbon for several months. Ripening in a warm and humid subtropical climate contributes to the development of flower and fruit aromatic bouquet. A small part of the whiskey is aged in barrels of sherry, which gives the future of the whiskey a complex and developed taste with vanilla caramel notes. Whiskey bottled at 46% barrel strength without filtering and staining.
In 2018 and 2017 whiskey "Omar" Single Molt (Bourbon Type) received gold medals at the competitions "Monde Selection" and "SFWSC"
Several years ago, whiskey from the island of Taiwan was recognized as the best in one of the international competitions. Since then, the attention of connoisseurs of whiskey riveted to this promising part of China. Nantou Distillery has become the second producer of single malt whiskey on the island. The products of this company have already received the title of "Best Taiwanese Single Malt" at the competition "World Whiskies Awards, 2017". Nantou Distillery was founded by the State Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL) in 1978. However, it was not until 2008 that she released her first whiskey. Before that, whiskey was produced at a nearby factory. Today, the distillery is equipped with modern cubes for distillation and has a warehouse capable of storing 4,500 barrels of bourbon and sherry with whiskey. To reduce the strength of the whiskey in the company used groundwater from a local source.
