Interesting Facts
"Fercullen" 15 Years Old is an exquisite Irish whiskey made from a mixture of corn and malt mash. It matures for the first 15 years in first-fill bourbon casks, absorbing their soft vanilla and woody notes. To enrich the flavor palette, part of the whiskey is additionally aged in second-fill Madeira casks, which imparts deep spice and dried fruit tones. Bottled at 41.5% ABV, without caramel coloring or cold filtration, this whiskey is a refined delight for connoisseurs of mature and complex flavors.
"Ferkullen" 15 year old was awarded a silver medal at the "International Wine & Spirit Competition" in 2024.
Producer's description
Powerscourt Distillery , located in the Irish gardens of the picturesque village of Enniskerry, County Wicklow, was designed in 2015 and built by Scottish engineering group Forsyths, one of the world's leading suppliers of distillation equipment. This is a classic three-distillation distillery that allows whiskey to be distilled using different methods, including double and triple distillation. At full capacity, the distillery can produce more than 3 million bottles of whiskey per year or produce the equivalent of 40 barrels of spirit per day.
For the first time in over 100 years, single malt Irish whiskey is being distilled and produced right here in the heart of Wicklow, and the team at Powerscourt are dedicated to creating and producing some of the best Irish whiskey for generations to come. The 22,000 square foot operating plant and visitor center offers a full sensory immersion experience from grain to glass. As one of the few operating distilleries in Ireland with its own aging warehouse, the distillery invites visitors to enjoy the aroma of its aging casks and breathe in the spirit of the Powerscourt Distillery brewing within.
