Cognac "Baron Roland" VSOP, gift box, 0.7 L
Tasting Notes
Cognac shows a noble dark amber color.
Cognac with a dense and complex structure has a voluminous, strong, powerful, but soft, rich and balanced taste with notes of ripe fruit, dried fruits, sweet spices and tobacco. The finish is long, elegant, memorable, warming with the nuances of noble wood and warm spices.
This exceptional brandy is gradually creating an impressive palette of excellent aromas. In addition to the powerful rancio notes characteristic of large cognacs, shades of ripe fruits (pear, peach, plum), honey, figs and bitter almonds, which are replaced by notes of cinnamon, vanilla, light tobacco and rice powder, appear.
Cognac is recommended to be used exclusively in pure form, accompanied by an expensive cigar.
Interesting Facts
In honor of the end of the year, the brand Deau presented a unique, rare and luxurious bottle of cognac of the "Hours d'Age" category, a real jewel adorned with gold leaf: LVO "La Vie en Or". Exceptional decanter, covered with 24-carat gold foil , keeps the secret of rare vintage art. The decanter is an exclusive piece of jewelry; gold foil is applied manually by the famous Parisian jeweler Artus Bertrand. For the production of cognac spirits, grapes of the Uni Blanc, Montil, Colombard and Fol Blanche grapes are used, which are grown in the oldest vineyards of the Gran Champagne region. To create cognac "La Vie en Or", which literally means "Life in Gold", the oldest spirits were selected, which were kept in limestone cellars for several decades. Cognac distillates were aged in Limousin oak barrels for 70-90 years. Several generations of technologists worked on the creation of this cognac. LVO is designed for true connoisseurs and collectors sensitive to aromatic complexity and unique bottle designs.
Cognac brand Deau dates back to the reign of Louis XIV, when the founder of the dynasty - Louis Do acquired the status of "bouilleurs de cru" or "boiler of wine." So called all the winegrowers who had the right to independently distill wine and create cognac. Thanks to centuries of experience and respect for the traditions of their ancestors, the To family still produces first-class French cognac to this day. Family vineyards occupy 100 hectares of land in Borderi, Feng Bois and Bon Bois, which provides only 20-30% of the total production. The rest of the grapes are purchased from other producers from 6 subregions of the Cognac province. Cognac "Deau" has been on the market since 1994 in the classic series: VS, VSOP, Napoleon XO, Extra and Reserve No. 1.
Joining the Distillerie des Moisans, brand "Up" opened a new page in its history. Thanks to a successful marketing strategy, the company Distillery de Moison created the Do products in a stylish, modern way. It was presented on January 30, 2012 in the refined atmosphere of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris, where 3 new Deau brandies created by master Philippe Fillon were demonstrated. These “Haute Couture” class cognacs in elegant designer decanters are decorated with the emblem depicting a griffin, which is a symbol of the treasurer of nature. Over the next two years, thanks to this line, the company's share of profits increased by 40%.
Producer's description
Distillerie des Moisans history began with the acquisition of vineyards and distilleries in the village Muazon, where almost all the houses are built of beautiful white patterned limestone rocks "sireuil". They give the whole surrounding area brightness and purity. Also, the limestone is the best part of the local soil, contributing to the strong growing of vines, allowing their roots to penetrate deep into the ground, sometimes more than 10 meters to search for nutrients. Moving to Muazon in 60-ies of XX century, Roland Bru bought vineyards here and spent a tremendous amount of work to achieve his goal: to make brandy "Moisans" this jewel of alcoholic beverages in the world. For many years, Roland sold his cognac spirits to other manufacturers, accumulating knowledge and experience, and dreaming of the day when he will release his own cognac. In 1997, after his death, the company management has assumed Veronique Bru-Lehar and her son Roland Lehar, and became their advisor Jerome Matteoli, a significant figure in the world of cognac drinks. They are faithful to the family tradition, and are convinced that the quality of the grapes is crucial to create a cognac character.
Manor De Muazon owns 60 hectares of vineyards, of which 30 are occupied by vineyards with a variety Ugni Blanc in the Fins Bois. This region is known for its delicacy and smoothness of their alcohol taste in adulthood. 12 stills of 25 hectoliters, the main work on the distillery in a huge light and airy basement Distillery de Muazon set to the period from October to March. The wines are fermented in temperature-controlled vats and distillation process lasts continuously day and night. To control this process of distillation master even sleeps here every hour thoroughly checking all records. Only after the second distillation of alcohol is considered to be worthy of being placed in barrels and become cognac.
More than 2,000 barrels of 350 liters - that's a real treasure Distillerie des Moisans. This reserve also includes very old cognacs that are waiting in the wings, to mature in peace and quiet in a dark basement. Today Distillery de Muazon is the owner of three brands of high quality cognacs: "Deau", "Moisans" and "Roland Bru".
