Interesting Facts
Weingut Winter, Riesling Trocken - dry white wine that has a spicy taste and delicious fresh aroma. The wine is made from Riesling grapes that ripen in the Rhinehesse region on soils with a high content of marl clay and limestone. The mild climate of the region is characterized by low average annual temperatures and a large number of sunny days with a fairly significant amount of precipitation. Harvesting is carried out manually in the morning cool hours to prevent the onset of spontaneous fermentation. Maceration lasts from 4 to 6 hours, which contributes to the maximum extraction of aromatic characteristics from each berry. Then the grapes are carefully pressed and placed in stainless steel tanks, where they are fermented without the use of artificial yeast.
Wine is recommended to drink well chilled as an aperitif, as well as with white meat and fish dishes, seafood, fruits and cheeses.
Producer's description
The company Weingut Winter is the brainchild of a young, talented winemaker Stefan Winter, who almost single-handedly placed a corner of the Dittelsheim-Hesloh on the German wine list. The winery is located in the middle of the hilly landscape of Rhinehessen surrounded by vineyards covering an area of 20 hectares. Stefan Vinter creates great, filigree wines, putting all his soul and skill into them, thanks to which they acquire individuality. To emphasize each terroir with individuality is the company's philosophy. White wines of Stefan Winter are considered to be among the best in Germany. In 2013, the company became a member of the association of German wine estates "Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter" (VDP). Stefan Winter uses organic methods in production, but he did not apply for official certification because of the many additional administrative procedures. Stefan also does not consider the presence of such a certificate attribute, which contributes to an increase in consumer interest in their products. The quality of wines is the only thing that matters to him.
