Interesting Facts
The white semi-dry wine Weingut Frank, Riesling is made from a vineyard crop located in Lower Austria. Poor soils with loess cover give Riesling for the production of noble wine, which will best reveal its character one year after the harvest. Grapes are harvested in late autumn, after the cold snap. Grapes are separated from the crests and subjected to prolonged maceration for about 8 hours. Fermentation at 18 ° C is carried out in stainless steel vats.
Producer's description
The history of the Weingut Hagn winery, owned by the Hagn family, began more than 300 years ago. For many years, the Hagn family has been dedicating itself, day after day, with great passion and care to viticulture and the production of wine of the highest quality, keeping its finger on the pulse of the times and proving that tradition and modernity are not a contradiction. The winery is located in a picturesque location in the small trading town of Mailberg, where it owns about 50 hectares of vineyards. Since 2006, cousins Leo Hagn Jr. (cellar master) and Wolfgang Hagn Jr. (responsible for sales and marketing) have taken over the management of the family business and have since taken the winery to a new level. For many years now, the Hagn winery has been in the top league of the largest wine-growing region Weinviertel, regularly nominated at the toughest Austrian wine competition "SALON Austria Wine", and for the fourth time in a row claiming the title of "Winery of the Year" at the country's largest wine competition "Lower Austrian Wine". Weingut Hagn is a family winery that deeply respects traditional values, but is also forward-looking to the future. In their work, Leo and Wolfgang adhere to sustainable agricultural practices, trying to minimize their impact on the environment. The winery has a photovoltaic system, which significantly reduces energy consumption, as well as a biomass heating system. Since the 2015 harvest, the winery has a BIO certificate.
In addition, in 2009, the brothers created a real place of pleasure - the wine house Hagn Weindomizil, a modern building that includes a stylish restaurant with fantastic panoramic views, a well-stocked wine bar, a chic food bar, a cozy lounge and six individually decorated guest rooms. This is a real oasis of pleasure, located in the lap of nature, surrounded by picturesque vineyards, where you can enjoy culinary delicacies and selected wines, relax and unwind from everyday life.
"Wine is more than just a liquid, wine is an art. It sparkles with different colors, and every sip creates new images in your head." This theory is the philosophy of Weingut Hagn, which invites you on a journey of discovery, to learn and enjoy the history of its wines.
