Wine rich red color.

The taste of wine is full, deep and harmonious, has a velvety texture, blackberry notes, notes of ripe dark fruit and nuances of tobacco. The finish is long.

Aromatic bouquet of wine is quite intense, replete with notes of ripe fruit in the frame of the nuances of pepper, peel of green walnut and tobacco.

The wine will make an excellent pair of dishes with beef or lamb, as well as a variety of pasta and cheese cuts.

Interesting Facts

To create red dry wine Mottura, "Preula del Levante" Negroamaro, Salento IGT, the producer uses Negroamaro grapes. Traditional maceration lasts 10-12 days, which provides the wine a rich and brilliant color. The process of alcoholic fermentation occurs at a strictly controlled temperature with the use of decomposition and repair. After fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurs. For a 6-month aging, French oak barrels are used.

Producer's description

The history of Vallone is the story of a family dedicated to the relentless development of its wine project and in the second half of the last century, the initiator of an innovative process that contributes to changing the perception of the wines of the Puglia region, both in Italy and around the world. Commodore Vincenzo de Marco, who in the middle of the 19th century successfully started the production and sale of wines in bulk to France and Tuscany in San Pietro Vernotico, is at the origins of the family wine business. The winery arose as a result of the association of the lands of Professor Donato Vallone, transferred as a dowry to his daughter Donna Maria, with the lands of Commodore Vincenzo de Marco. This fact is confirmed by the marriage contract of 1934, which stipulates the merger of two estates: Tenuta Flaminio from Brindisi and Tenuta Iore from San Pancrazio Salentino. In this marriage, the children of Franco, Vittoria, Maria Teresa and Bepi were born, who followed in the footsteps of their parents and took a direct part in the development of the company.

A particularly great contribution to the promotion of the family business was made by Franco Vallone, who, being an enterprising and far-sighted entrepreneur, in the 1970s carried out the reconstruction and modernization of the winery. Under his leadership, a batch of 1973 Brindisi DOC wines was first exported to the United States, which radically changed the policy of the company's wine business.

Unfortunately, Franco passed away early in 1979, after his death the company was headed by sisters Vittoria and Maria Teresa. In 2014 they were joined by Franco's son, Francesco Vallone, a member of the fourth generation. Today, Vallone owns 500 hectares of land divided into 3 production areas in the municipalities of San Pancrazio Salentino, San Pietro Vernotico and Carovigno.

Vallone stands for true craftsmanship, competence, constant research, a deep respect for traditional values along with an innovative approach. In its work, the company adheres to the philosophy of maximum care and love for the earth, the vine and the environment. The main goal of the family company is to create wines that justify the desires of those who choose them, vividly demonstrating the characteristic features of the terroir of their origin and a clean, elegant, never excessive style. Vallone wines are of high quality and unique characteristics, the result of decades of passionate work and a constant desire to maintain and strengthen the trust of their customers.
