Producer's description
The family-owned winery Urbanihof was founded in the distant 1598 and is still under the control of the Paschinger family. Sonya and Franz Paschinger, who today run the company, are representatives of the 11th generation of winemakers. Thanks to the centuries-old experience and respect for local traditions, winemakers thoroughly know all the features and diversity of local terroirs, applying their knowledge to create great wines. The company's product range is wide enough - from light everyday wines to mature and seasoned, made from yields from old vines. The main cultivated grape variety is the Grüner Veltliner. The vineyards are located on loess, well-drained soils in a beautiful area along the banks of the Danube. For the last 5 years, the company has smoothly switched to the use of natural fertilizers (completely eliminating pesticides and herbicides), maintaining the natural microclimate of the soil. For fertilizer and pest control, compost, herbs, and copper sulfate are used to spray the vine. Since 2016, the Urbanihof wines are certified as organic. Also, the winery is the founder and main participant in the association of winegrowers "Wagramer Selection".
