Color

Wine of pale straw color with greenish reflections.

Taste

Clean, dry and fresh taste of wine demonstrates the nuances of juicy fruit, toasted buns and fragrant creamy motives. Slight aftertaste filled with notes of roasted almonds.

Aroma

Refreshing, multi-layered taste of the wine reveals hints of lime and passion fruit that go into the nuances of color, white pepper, spices and curry.

Gastronomy

The wine is excellent as an aperitif, as well as excellently combined with smoked salmon or fried tuna.

Interesting Facts

Tokara Director's Reserve White - beautiful white wine from the company Tokara, created from grapes Semillon (30%) and Sauvignon Blanc (70%), grown in the vineyards in Stellenbosch. The harvest of white grapes in 2010 was simply superb. The season dawned late and relatively cool. Middle and end of the season accompanied by favorable warm weather. These conditions contributed to the elegant and refined fruitiness future wines. Berries Sauvignon Blanc were collected for this wine from two vineyards. The harvest began on March 9. Variety Semillon harvested at the peak of its maturity - February 28th. Berries, after careful data collection, went to the winery, where they were treated under pressure. The fermentation process took 15 days. Variety Semillon been partially malolactic fermentation. Sauvignon Blanc is aged in 400-liter French oak barrels, Semillon - in 225-liter barrels of the same material, 24% of which were new. Aging process lasted 9 months. Wine bottled in November 2010. In 2010 was released 8500 bottles of excellent wine. Aging potential of wine - 6 years.

Winery "Tokara" - a new young star in the South African wine market. Winery "Tokara" is set among vineyards and olive groves on the crest of the pass Helshugte with stunning views of the bay Fals Bay. Winemakers "Tokara" proud of the fact that their wine reflects the specificity of the region where it was produced. Initially, the company owned a vineyard "Stellenbosch", located on the southern slopes of Mount Saymonsberg later acquired two other farms - "Highlands" in Elgin County and "Siberia" in the Hemel-and-Arda, and the production of wine manages to retain the individual characteristics of all three wineries regions.
Winery "Tokara" was purchased Gerrit "GT" Ferreira (founder of the finance company RCI) in 1994 exclusively for residential purposes, while the potential of the wine of the area, nothing was known. Later here, at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, were planted classic grape varieties. Cool air and low temperature promote the cultivation of grape quality. Now "Tokara" - is not only a winery, which offers outstanding wines, brandy and olive oil, it is also a gallery of fine art, and a restaurant with specialties from one of South Africa's leading chefs. The plant itself is a simple architecture and design of the building, made of natural materials. The factory is equipped with advanced technology and automated control system to ensure that the wines "Tokara" highest quality.
