Collection called "Altum" - a collection of fine wines created from grapes from only one vineyard. Each of the collection of wines made from selected grapes grown in a particular area, and it reflects the characteristics of the neighborhood. The name "Altum" originates from the Latin word Altum, meaning "sublime", "outstanding."
Wine TerraMater Altum Merlot is made from grapes grown in the area №74 Kaperana vineyard, located on the complex rocky soil. Early next 5-7 day cold maceration, then fermentation at a temperature of 28C with three irrigations caps a day and 100% malolactic fermentation in barrels. The wine is aged 18 months in French oak barrels (80% of which are new), before bottling is not filtered.
In 1996, three older sisters Canepa - Gilda, Edda and Antonieta - realize their dream by opening a new winery TerraMater. A passion for wine production has been part of their lives, because the family Canepa in winemaking since the 1930's. Once their father emigrated from Italy to Chile and discover that the fertile soils of the Chilean viticulture engage easily and efficiently acquired vineyards. Today his business, but under his own name, his daughter continued.
