Interesting Facts
Tenuta Buon Tempo, Brunello di Montalcino - dry red wine from Sangiovese grapes, the only variety grown on Tenuta Buon Tempo estate, as it is the best expression of typical Montalcino characteristics and the only variety that can be found in the most prestigious wines of the region - Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino. Grapes for making wine are harvested exclusively by hand from vines with very low yields (maximum 1 kg per vine). Fermentation with the use of natural yeast and long maceration for 3-4 weeks take place in steel tanks. Exposure is carried out in four stages: first 24 months in 500-liter tons of French oak (about 40% new, the remaining two and three years), then 18-24 months in large 65-hectoliter barrels of Slavonian oak, 6 months in steel tanks and finally, 6 months bottled after bottling. The peak of the maturity of the 2012 vintage will be in 2018-2022.
Producer's description
Tenuta Buon Tempo is located on the southern edge of the Montalcino region, not far from Castelnuovo del'Abate, in an area particularly suitable for viticulture. The winery owns 12 hectares of vineyards on the best plots of Montalcino, cultivated in accordance with the requirements of organic farming and officially certified in 2018 after several years of continuous improvement of the quality of the grapes and the environment.
At present, the farm is owned by Mr. Peru Landen, a Swedish entrepreneur who already owns vineyards in French Bordeaux. Landen makes great investments in the vineyard and the winery and conducts the necessary research to create uncompromising wines of the highest quality. The winery team, led by oenologist Alberto Macchetti, is assisted by cooperation with outstanding professionals in the field of winemaking and agronomy, such as Attilio Pali and Stefano Bartolomei. All this allows us to enhance and express the enormous potential in the whole range of Montalcino wines produced.
