Producer's description
In 1991, the brothers Norbert and Peter Sigeti took over the management of the Szigeti business, formerly owned by their parents. They decided to focus on the promotion of wines that transmit varietal characteristics of grapes. In the production of wine is used only ripe in the sun and hand-picked grapes. Most of the grapes used come from the nearby region, located near Lake Neusiedl. The eastern part of the Middle Danube Plain has a special microclimate and an abundance of sunny days, which causes the birth of wines with unique taste and aroma characteristics. Peter Sigeti and masters from his team of winemakers spend a lot of time at the wineries of partners and suppliers to see for themselves the quality of the grapes they buy. High quality grapes - a necessary condition, because these berries must reveal their varietal potential in sparkling wines Sigeti.
Szigeti sparkling wines are made exclusively in the classical way, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The ripening of wines, which takes place in deep and cool cellars, ensures that a high-quality base wine turns into an excellent sparkling wine with an unmistakably recognizable cap of delicate mousse. According to the owners, they can do this only in two places on Earth: in Champagne and Burgenland.
