Color
Whiskey golden brown.
Taste
Whisky has a smooth taste with notes of vanilla, fruit (raisins, candied apples) and a slight nuance of smoke in the background. Lightweight, rounded, well-balanced, elegant taste, typical of Speyside whiskey.
Aroma
In pure form, whiskey has a light scent with fruity notes of pear and a hint of caramel candies. When water is added to the creamy caramel overtones are added to floral aromas (rose petals).
Gastronomy
Like all whiskey Smit's Glenlivet 15 years is particularly good in combination with a cigar. Lovely digestif.
Interesting Facts
In the 19th century the best whiskey in Scotland was carried out on the river Livet, while considered the best whiskey, made by George Smith at his distillery Glenlivet (Glenlivet). Glenlivet distillery was the first to obtain the license for the manufacture of whiskey after the enactment of legislation in 1823. This provoked the hatred of neighbors who tried to burn the distillery and even made an attempt on the life of George Smith. For this reason the Lord Aberlauer gave George Smith a couple of pistols, currently kept in the museum distillery as evidence of the fact that Glenlivet was the favorite drink of the strong King George IV.
