Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rose - dry sparkling rose wine, created by the traditional method of production in South Africa, sparkling wines, called methods Cap Classic (Methode Cap Classique). First vintage "Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rose" was released in 2004 - that's when the winemaker Johan Malan created an innovative blend of three grape varieties: Pinotage, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. For the first time in the world to blend were combined South African and two classic French grape varieties used for making wine in Champagne. As a result of the harmonious blending into the light born juicy pink wine with a fruity aroma and delicate, smooth, silky taste. Harvesting is done by hand in the second half of January to mid-February, with careful sorting and removal of damaged berries. The collected berries are gently squeezed with special presses.
Vintage 2009 evoked memories of the year 1996 - an endless summer heat, sun-soaked days until fragrant deep-April. Winemakers were even pleasantly excited exceptional quality of this year's harvest. Harvesting began in January for Pinot Noir, which at that time already uniformly ripe. Otherwise, other varieties of maturation was slower and gradually increased sweetness. Pinotage collected almost at the end of February, with a higher sugar content, allowing to develop a delicious aroma of strawberries and raspberries in the drink.
