Interesting Facts
In the XVIII century Count Lafond bought the largest vineyards in the region illegitimate daughter of the French king Louis XV. Winemaking was not the main activities of the family, it was more of a hobby. However, the wine was produced so well that it became a favorite white wine of Napoleon. Winery Count flourished until the end of the XIX century until the vines were almost destroyed during the invasion of phylloxera. In such a deplorable state vineyards got in 1972 a young Patrick de Lyadusetu.

Taking business management into their own hands at the age of twenty, energetic Baron quickly improve the quality and raised the prestige of Pouilly Fumé,, Sancerre and Vouvray worldwide. Today Baron de Lyaduset - one of the most influential winemakers in the Loire Valley, his company owns more than 200 acres of vineyards and produces wines of the highest quality.
