Rene Barbier winery is not by chance that the French name - its founder, Leon Barbier, at the end of the XIX century came in the Penedes from Avignon, where his vineyards were completely destroyed by phylloxera. Leon Barbier decided to start over in Spain and chose the Penedes region of Catalonia, on the Mediterranean coast.
