Tasting Notes
The wine has a golden-yellow color, characteristic for port Tony.
The wine has an elegant and refined taste with hints of plums, nuts and rice. It is a living, sweet wine with good acidity, good balance and long finish.
The wine has a light aroma with notes of undergrowth, flowers and notes of raisins.
Wine is an excellent aperitif, goes well with fruit desserts.
Interesting Facts
Koleyta - a kind of port Tony (Tawny), which is characterized by the fact that due to the long aging in oak color changes to golden beverage, and the taste becomes surprisingly intense. Koleyta in turn differs from the usual vintage ports Tony fact that wine is made from a single harvest and is a very rare type of port.
Quinta do Koleyta Nova - fortified sweet port wine, grapes for which are grown on their own vineyards manufacturer. In the production of port wine grapes gags feet, and the resulting liquid is fermented by the classical technology in specialized containers "Lagares". Port before release withstand a minimum of 7 years. In principle port Koleyta bottled only under the order, preferring to rest of the time to keep it in oak barrels.
Quinta do Noval estate is located in the heart of the Douro Valley, two kilometers from the small town of Pingyao. For the first time the estate of Quinta do Noval is mentioned in documents in 1715. Almost a hundred years the owner of this house was the family Rebello Valente, get it from the Prime Minister of Portugal, the Marquis de Pombal. In 1894, the house wine purchased one of the best-known suppliers of port Antonio Jose da Silva, who turned it into a beautiful estate, pearl Douro Valley, having spent a number unique to the time change. The estate owns vineyards Class "A" area of 145 hectares, located at different altitudes - from 100 to 350 meters above sea level. French company AXA Millesime, which owns the estate today, also owns some of the best Chateau in Bordeaux, Chateau Pichon-Longuevelle and Contenac Brown.
