"Chianti Classico Riserva" is made from the finest, carefully selected Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot. Both varieties are vinified separately. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel containers for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30 degrees. Wine soaked 2 years in 225-liter French oak barrels. After bottling, the wine is further aged in bottles for at least 3 months to identify all the best characteristics of the beverage.
Chianti Classico Riserva from Nittardi has a high potential for exposure - up to 20 years - which allows the wine to develop harmonious character, to show its full depth and intensity. The bottle is decorated with the image of a black rooster (Gallo Nero) - the emblem of the association of manufacturers of Chianti Classico, a kind of "quality mark" of the region.

There he wrote that he had sent a few bottles of wine from Nittardi in Rome, as a "true gift to the Pope" - or rather, the Popes: Julius II and Leo X. Since 1982, the company "Fattoria Nittardi" belongs to the Frankfurt publisher and owner of an art gallery Femfertu Peter and his wife, Stephanie, a historian of Venice. Fattoria Nittardi owns 12 hectares of vineyards, 4 hectares of olive groves and 120 hectares of pristine forest. The vines are planted in Nittardi in the heart of Chianti Classico, at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, on the south side of the hills. These hills are covered with oak trees that provide protection from cold winds.

Stephanie and Peter rebuilt Nittardi step by step with love and care. Vineyards were transplanted, and in 1992 a modern cellar appeared in the estate. A competent team of wine enthusiasts was assembled, consisting of Carlo Ferrini, an oenologist consultant; Antonio Sporio, technical director; and Giorgio Comte, Commercial Director. The son of Stephanie and Peter, Leon Femfert, since early 2013 also works at the winery. So business became family.
