The history of the winery Muri-Gries began in 1845, when the Benedictine monks moved from Muri (Switzerland) to Gris (South Tyrol). Here the Order sheltered the Augustinian monastery. Benedictines brought with them the skills of viticulture and winemaking, which developed in a special, unlike anything style due to the amazing symbiosis of the monastery, the winery and the estate. This union of spirit and the vine has been successfully operating to this day. As a result, in the 21st century, the winery made a wide assortment of top wines, such as "Abtei Muri" ("Muri Abbey"), which have been produced since 1989 from exceptional grapes harvested from the best sites.
