The first mention of the manor Terriccio belongs to the Middle Ages.
In 1921, Castello del Terriccio became the property of the family Rossi, which at that time were grown various crops, including olives and grapes.
The current owner Dr. Jean Anibal Rossi di Medelana decided to concentrate solely on wine. Known oenologist Carlo Ferrini, consultant Castello del Terriccio, based on their talent and rich traditions of the winery, has created two delicious wines, famous throughout the world - Lupicaia and Tassinaia, they are also the hallmark of Castello del Terriccio.
In May 2003, the magazine Decanter wine put Lupicaia, Toscana IGT in fourth place among the best red wines in the world.
