Tasting Notes

Color

Amber whiskey.

Taste

Whiskey Ledchig has fragrant taste with hot spices. Shades of roasted almonds, sesame seeds and licorice sticks. In diluted form in taste manifested notes of violet, lavender, dried grass and wheat.

Aroma

In its pure form has a floral aroma of whiskey with sweet malt notes, notes of heather, earth and a slight tinge of apples. In diluted form in the aroma of whiskey floral notes become even stronger and it adds a touch of caramel and burnt oak.

Gastronomy

Like all whiskey, Ledaig especially in combination with good cigar. Lovely digestif.

Interesting Facts

Distillery Ledayg now known as the Distillery Tobermory, the name was changed in the 70 years of the last century. Distillery is located on the foreshore in the picturesque harbor of Tobermory, which has existed since the 18th century. Tobermory Distillery was founded in 1823, but later closed several times, the last of which took place in the 1980s. Reopened in 1989 Tobermory distillery operates successfully and now.
Ledayg whiskey is produced under the label Connoisseur's Choice. Connoisseur's Choice - a well-known brand among connoisseurs of whiskey, which is produced under the single malt whiskey produced at little-known distilleries, facing the threat of closure and disappearance. From 1980 to 1995 in Scotland has been closed 29 distilleries, some of which are entirely ceased to exist, as some only temporarily suspended their work. The reasons for closing are different, but it would be a pity if the whiskey produced at these distilleries have been lost forever, as each of these hard liquor has its own unique properties that could never be obtained in the production of whiskey on any other distillery. It is for this reason, Gordon and McPhail for many years bought up in bulk malt from little-known distilleries, thus saving them from closing. All made of whiskey and thus began to be issued under the label Connoisseur's Choice.
