Dry red wine "Istrico", made from grapes Sangiovese goes well with meat dishes and moderately sharp cheeses. Grown in the cool climate vineyards in the area of Montecucco, Sangiovese has good acidity and characteristic notes of mint and ripe fruit. Grape passes spontaneous fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel and maceration for 14 days. Winery Le Casalte - it is a small company located in the heart of the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, which is under the guidance of Chiara Barioffi. Her family owns a winery "Le Casalte" since 1975. Father Chiara produce wine for themselves and their friends who were willing to invest financial resources in its production. So in 1979, it was released the first wine Nobile di Montepulciano.
