Wine La Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG, 2015
Wine red-ruby color with a pomegranate tinge.
The wine has a dry, velvety taste, showing an exquisite balance and tannin. A beautiful palette of half-tones of ripe fruit develops into a firm, long aftertaste with shades of oak and spices.
A complex and intense aroma of wine reveals notes of cherry jam, accents of plum and red berries. The nuances of leather and spices, as well as hints of violets complement the refined and rich bouquet.
Wine will make an ideal gastronomic couple with dishes of Tuscan cuisine. It can be served to fry, steak, game dishes and mature cheeses.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG is an elegant and harmonious wine with a gentle "autumn" character, which has an excellent development potential of 30 years. It is created from Prunyolo with the addition of Merlot.
In the process of vinification the wort is macerated on the skin and fermented in stainless steel vats for 20-25 days. Daily repairs are carried out (transfer of the wort from the tender part of the container to the upper one) in order to achieve the best extraction and ensure the future wine with a rich color and aroma. The wine lasts for two years: the first 12 months in a ton of French oak, and the second 12 months - in large 25-gallon barrels of Slavonian oak.
La Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta is one of the oldest wineries in the Montepulciano area. In addition to wine, other products associated with Tuscany also produce. Today, the household is managed by the cases of Seth Ferrari Corbelli, received from his father Giorgio in the legacy of Marco, Vanozza and Galdin. The territory of the estate is about 70 hectares, while 20 of them occupy vineyards. Vines grow on clayey and silty soils in the hills of Gracchiano, one of the most prestigious and oldest areas of Montepulciano. In favorable conditions, in the area where winemaking was practiced from time immemorial, La Tenuta Gracciano of Set's business produces wines of the highest quality. As early as 1864, their Vino Nobile di Montepulciano was awarded the first prize at the International Fair in Turin. And in the cellars of the farm there are still a few bottles of a very respectable age.
In 2013, the estate began an update period. A new winery was built, and the old one is still used for wine aging. The company has always cooperated with famous winemakers, including Nicol d'd'Afflitto and Beppe Rigoli, who have confirmed and even guaranteed that La Tenuta di Gracciano della Seta creates a premium Vino Nobile, respecting the terroir and using autochthon grape varieties.
