"Groppella" - wine with a strong personality, with a concentrated flavor and good storage potential without losing freshness. "Groppella" is a special version of Gavi. Oenologist Dario Bergalou produces this wine from selected grapes Cortese, harvested from the oldest vineyards of the company. Due to the fermentation in French oak barrels and partial aging in oak barrels, the wine gets a fat, full, long taste with honey sweetness and a beautiful structure.
Producer's description
Winery La Chiara is located in a hilly area in the foothills of the Ligurian Apennines, near Gavi. Farmland company occupy 39 hectares of which 20 hectares given over to vineyards. The special position of vineyards on the southern and south-western exposure and a variety of soils (tuff and limestone alternating with clay, sand and gravel) make it possible to create a big wine structure and complexity. Since the great wines begin in the vineyard, the company pays close attention to its meticulous and sites. Heavy pruning and thinning vines allow to obtain lower yields and improve the quality of the grapes. Chemical pesticides and fertilizers, to the extent possible, not be used. Vintage is always harvested by hand in small boxes. A modern winery cellar La Chiara is equipped with stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, pneumatic presses, sheet filters, vacuum units for sterile filling lines. The company's products both in the domestic and export markets, the main importing countries are Germany, England, Japan, the United States.
