Interesting Facts
Nestled among the green olive groves, vineyards and beautiful oak woods, the estate Petrolia is a place, brimming with charm and a rich history. The main attraction is the Tower Galastona estate, construction of which was started during the time of the Etruscans and the Romans, and the best wines bear the names of the Manor "Torrioni" (big tower) and "Galatrona." "Villa" rises above the old Parisian church Romanesque Pieve, which is home to works by the Italian Renaissance sculpture by Giovanni della Robbia.
In 2007 Galatrona became one of only two wines of Italy (with Montevetrano from Campania), which received the highest score of all five leading wine guides of the country. And James Suckling in the Wine Spectator compared it with wine Petrus 1989.
Merlot vineyards occupy an area of 31 hectares and is located at an altitude of 250-450 m above sea level.
