The company was founded Ruggeri Giustino BIZOL in 1950, whose family was proud of the rich tradition of winemaking in the region Valdobyaden. It is known that the family BIZOL grow grapes from 1542. In 1920, the oenologist Luigi BIZOL built a winery in Montebelluna, and in 1950 the son of Luigi, Giustino BIZOL, founded the winery Ruggeri and began producing sparkling wines from Prosecco and Cartizze. In 1993, the winery has been translated into a new large and ergonomically designed building.
Fuchs und Hase is a new wine-making project created in 2012 specifically for the production of pet-nats. Pet Nats (naturel petillant) are natural sparkling wines created by the “old-fashioned” method, in which during the first and only fermentation the wine is bottled (with residual sugar), with the result that fermentation continues in the bottles. With this method, natural carbon dioxide is emitted in the bottle, thanks to which the wine is filled with natural sparkling.
Today, pet-nats are becoming increasingly popular among consumers, so the range of Fuchs und Hase is replenished with new products. The annual production volume is about 12,000 bottles.
