Producer's description
Fattoria di Montechiari is located on a picturesque hilltop, a five minute walk from the historic center of Montecarlo. Here, since 1978, Moreno Panattoni and Catherine Pirmes have supported the ancient wine traditions dating back to the 15th century. Vineyards and olive groves occupy the best exposure and make maximum use of sunlight and geological characteristics of soils. For a long time this region was famous for its avant-garde wines, especially white, but Moreno Panattoni went even further: today all 5 mono-wine wines offered to the consumer are a reflection of the terroir style. With the introduction of organic viticulture, their taste has become even more expressive and clean.
Since 2005, the company has expanded its ownership to other wineries. One of the latest experiments was the production of sparkling wine from Pinot Nero in accordance with the classical method of champagne. This is extremely unusual for Tuscany, and someone will say that this is "real madness", but it's still great that the company Fattoria di Monteciari has a desire to experiment and develop.
