Producer's description
The history of Erwin Sabathi began in 1650, when George Sabati founded a small winery. The management of the economy was transferred from generation to generation and only in 1914 it ceased to function. In 1938, the winery was sold to Johann Sabati and his wife, Lyudmila. In the mid-1950s, Johann significantly expanded the area of his vineyards, and planted the vines of the Sauvignon Blanc grape on them.
In 1968, Erwin Sabati purchased a store in which the company's wines are still sold today. During this period, new vineyards were also purchased. A big upsurge in the company began in 1992, when the leadership was completely transferred to Erwin Sabati. He built a new wine cellar, in which wine began to be aged since 2004.
The family winery, as in the old days, is located in the possession of Erwin. Here lives Erwin Sabati with two younger brothers, Gerd and Christoph. In 2016 the plant passed the process of certification of organic winemaking. According to the magazine "Falstaff" Erwin Sabathi was named a winery in 2016.
