Ekus Carmenere refers to the classic lineup of wines Vina de Aras Pirke. This is one of the finest wines of Chile. Carmenere grapes for Ekus collected in May by hand from its own vineyards located in the Maipo Valley. 50% of the grapes is subjected to cold maceration for 5 days. Fermentation fault occurs in stainless steel tanks. After that, Ekus Carmenere aged for 9 months in French oak barrels. Carmenere wine Ekus awarded the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial in Brussels in 2006 and the Gold Medal at Vinalies Catad'or in 2009.
Vina Haras de Pirque - joint ownership Eduardo Matte and the world-famous winemaker Marquis Antinori. E.Matte himself - a successful businessman, reckless rider, who at one time was considered the best breeders in South America. When in the 90s of the last century Chilean red wines started to become popular worldwide, Matte interested prospective part of the land in the northwest area of Pirke Maipo Valley. This area is unique because of its favorable climate. Eduardo Matte economy founded Viña de Aras Pirke in order to create a wine company class 1, and the proceeds from the sale of wine means to modernize the oldest horse-breeding factory, which was founded in 1882. An interesting fact is that even the building winery Vina Haras de Pirque is shaped like a horseshoe! Thus, due to the love for horses E.Matte and his passion for equestrian sports world was amazing wines that combine high quality and very reasonable price.
