Producer's description
Domaine du Pelican - an estate and winery in the Jura region, which in 2012 acquired Guillaume d'Angerville, the owner of the legendary Domaine Volnays Marquis d'Angerville. After trying the Jura wines, Guillaume immediately appreciated the excellent terroir, explored it and found vineyards for purchase. Today in the Domain du Pelican the same rules and high standards are used as in Volne. All vineyards of the farm, the total area of which is about 15 hectares, are located in the Arbua appellation and are biodynamic. They mostly grow autochthonous grape varieties (Pulsar, Trousseau, Savavin), as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which in the Jura is called Melon d'Arbua. Guillaume d'Angerville uses both traditional Burgundian and local vinification methods to create his wines.
