Domaine de la Janasse, Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC "Vieilles Vignes", 2008 - red wine from the famous appellasona Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Blend wine is a classic blend of Southern Rhone. The grapes for this wine is obtained from the areas planted in 1920 and 1965. Grapes from old vines harvested by hand, 80% of the ridges are removed. Held cold maceration for 2-4 days with stirring. Producer's description
In 1967, after serving in the army Aimé Sabon received vineyards from his father, who gave yields a wine cooperative, and by his stepfather, who sold wine negociant. In 1973, Aimé built his own wine cellar. Thus was created Domaine de la Janasse, named after the family farm located in Courthézon, in a place called "La Janasse". Aimee has continued to expand the estate by acquiring new sites. Having first 15 hectares, today occupies 90 hectares domain. Since 1991, the farm operates his son Christoph, and since 2001 - the daughter Isabel, oenologist by training. Vineyards Domain de la Zhanass has 60 plots with different exposures and different types of soil. Mainly grown varieties are Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.
