Wine Domaine d'Eugenie, Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru, 2012

Harvest for the Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is assembled by hand, passing partial destemming. The grapes were cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels under carefully controlled temperature using pizhazha. Excerpt took place in oak barrels, half of which - the new, for 15 months. The wine has a storage capacity of 10-12 years. Recommended before tasting pour wine from the bottle at least one hour.

Domain d'Ezheni owned 0.5 hectares at Grand Cru vineyard, located on the south-eastern part of another great Grand Cru "Clos Vougeot". Age of vines are an average of 60 years. Name "Echezeaux" comes from the word "chezal" ("chezeaux" in the plural) - so once called small village, later transformed into the word "Echezeaux" ("Eshezo"). The monks of the Abbey of Citeaux, already owned a vineyard "Clos Vougeot" really wanted to get into the possession of the vineyard and the famous "Musigny", but their request was not to be. Then all his strength and attention they gave the vineyard "Grandz-Eshezo", which will soon rival the prestigious "Musigny".

Domain d'Ezheni is the reincarnation of the famous Domain Angela. After the tragic death of Philip Angelo in 2005, the farm was purchased by Frederick Angerer (managing director of Château Latour) and oenologist Michel Mallar. Already the first two years have shown what great results can be achieved by paying attention to the smallest detail. Vineyards have been reconstructed, some vines were replaced with new ones, and a sharp reduction in yield possible to obtain grapes of the highest quality even in bad years. There have also been refurbished and basements, thereby creating ideal conditions for winemaking and wine storage. Thanks to the work done in just 3-4 years Domain d'Ezheni could become one of the best farms in Burgundy and its wines are available today worldwide.
