Tasting Notes
The wine has a deep ruby color.
The taste of wine a generous, rounded, with a supple texture, notes of ripe red fruit, chocolate, vanilla and banana, with pleasant tannins and a long finish.
The multi-faceted flavor of the wine reveals dark fruit notes of vanilla, exotic spices and chocolate.
The wine is recommended to be used in a pair with meat dishes of Mediterranean cuisine (lamb with spices, souvlaki or kebab), as well as traditional dishes of roast meat, lamb tails and steaks on the grill, stew and barbecue.
Interesting Facts
Diemersdal, Pinotage - a dry red wine, which is used in the production of the same grape variety, which grows by 16-year-old vines. Due to the temperate climate and cool sea breeze of the Atlantic Ocean, the berries ripen slowly and evenly. Harvesting takes place only to achieve full maturity of grapes. At the winery the fruit undergo traditional vinification. Matured wine is 12-14 months in 225 liter French oak barrels, 30% of them - are new.
Producer's description
When the inventory has been found in the basement of an old leather-bound book, which records date back to 1705 year. In 1885, the estate passed into the hands Dimersdal family Louws, and today it is led by the sixth generation. The farm is located on the slopes of Dorstberg, its area covers 340 hectares under vines allotted 180 hectares.
