Tasting Notes
Wine ruby-red color. With aging, it acquires a pomegranate hue.
Full-bodied wine with a dry, well-balanced flavor. Tannins, vigorous in youth, become velvety and sedate with age.
The aroma of wine collected shades of red berries and fruits, the nuances of minerals, spices, chocolate and coffee.
The wine goes well with red meat and hard cheeses.
Interesting Facts
Dry dry varietal wine D'Angelo, Aglianico del Vulture DOC created from the same grape variety grown on volcanic soils with an average degree of density. Vineyards with southern and southeastern exposure, located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, are located near the extinct volcano Vulture in the province of Potenza. The yield of vineyards does not exceed 45 hectoliters / ha. Maceration lasts about eight days. Wine is aged in large barrels for 20 months.
Producer's description
Winery D'Angelo , whose name has been associated with Allanico for nearly a hundred years, presents the history of this wine in Basilicata. Today, the company is owned and operated by Rocco and Ermina D'Angelo, son and daughter of Lucio. Rocco and Ermina are doing their utmost to continually improve the quality of their products. The focus is on the source of any good wine - vineyards, an area of about 35 hectares owned by the company.
Each year, the winery produces about 300,000 bottles of standard volume wine. The company has two estates at its disposal: one of them is used as a wine-making workshop, the second is intended for aging wine (in barriques, barrels, steel tankers and cement vats).
