Wine Chateau Ramafort, Medoc AOC Cru Bourgeois, 2006

Chateau Ramafor - one of the oldest not only in Bordeaux, but in the whole of France. Documents indicate its existence as early as 1240. Vineyards growing on soils of marl and sand were first planted in the XVII century. Until now, in places limestone outcrop can find fossils and ancient artifacts. Over the last three centuries, the Chateau create the best red wine Medoc Cru Bourgeois classification - "Chateau Ramafort", which blend perfectly balanced and composed of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Sauvignon grown on soils with a gravel base, Merlot is grown on limestone-clay soil. The unique terroir of the vineyards provides a rich and complex fruity wines have received numerous awards and recognition worldwide. Crop is harvested by hand with a 30-year-old vines in the first half of October with careful selection of grapes. Maceration depending on the vintage lasts 15-25 days. Then the wine is aged in oak barrels (50% new and 50% one-year) for 12-16 months.
"Chateau Ramafort", in 2006 won the bronze medal at the "Decanter World Wine Awards".
