Chateau Mondorion Saint Emilion Grand Cru AOC 2008 - is an elegant wine, it is made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc vineyard area of 11 hectares. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 12-15 months, 40% of the barrels - new. Wine awarded: vintage 2000 -18/20 points Guide Fleurus 2004 15/20 points Vinum mars 2003; Vintage 2006 - 87/100 points Guide Gilbert & Gaillard 2010.
Agriculture Chateau Mondorion was founded by a group of enthusiasts led by Giorgio Cavanna in 2000. It is located near the historic town of Saint-Emilion. On soft slopes, known under the name of the vineyard is located Mondou farm area of 11 hectares, centered on the castle and the cellar. The castle, surrounded by vineyards, prompted Giorgio Cavanna, in remembrance of the beautiful constellation of Orion, one of the stars which shine with particular brilliance. Thus, combining the ancient name of this site (Mondou) and constellations (Orion) gave the name to the castle - Chateau Mondorion. It produces excellent wines that best reflect the characteristics of the terroir.
Saint-Emilion region called the jewel in the crown of Bordeaux wines. It was here that was established strict quality control, which is determined by the best tasters, so since 1948, any wine, claiming the name of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru must be approved by experts who taste the wine during the year after harvest. Saint-Emilion vineyards are considered the oldest in Bordeaux, and thanks to its uniqueness in 1999, they were made to the list of international heritage by UNESCO as a natural and cultural monument. In the vineyards of Saint-Emilion are grown three main varieties: Merlot, which gives the wine color, strength, wonderful flavor and rounded taste; Cabernet Franc, the wine granting refined, spicy aroma and freshness, and thanks to the high content of tannins, the wine is aging well; Cabernet Sauvignon wine spicy flavor enriches and contributes to their harmonious maturation.
