Interesting Facts
Chateau Merlet is located in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mer and owns 48 hectares of vineyards, located in the highest point of the Gironde at an altitude of 134 meters above sea level. It is here that are delicious white, rose and red wines of the highest quality, each of which has its own character and fully reflects the characteristics of this prestigious terroir. Soil Chateau presented clay and limestone, making wines that are born to them, have an aromatic complexity, as well as soft, deep flavor. The average age of the vines is 28 years. At the end of vinification all wines undergo strict selection, and release only the very best vintages.
To date, the Château Merle is one of the 15 castles belonging to the house wine Cordier, which was founded in 1886 and is one of the largest producers of top quality wines in Bordeaux. A distinctive feature vintage Cordier is the observance of a balance between traditional and innovative methods of winemaking. Much attention is paid to improving the quality of the wine through scientific research conducted in conjunction with the Institute of oenological Bordeaux.
