Chateau Lafon-Rochet - dry red wine, aged in oak barrels, with bright berry flavor and a marvelous aroma with notes of licorice, leather and green tea. The wine is made from three grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The area of the vineyard - 40 ha, and planting density of vines is 9,000 vines / ha. Wine storage capacity is 10-25 years.
Lyafon Chateau Rocher has a long history, the first mention of the castle date back to 1650, the name Lyafon was added in the same year after marrying Antoinette de Gilmot and Etienne Lyafona. In 1720, their heir Pierre Lyafon already known as a good winemaker. Through the efforts of the owners, the Château develop and expand, and in 1855 he was awarded the Grand Cru Class 4. The estate belonged to the family Lyafon-Roche until 1960, when it was bought by Guy Tesseron that over the next 10 years to modernize production and improve the quality of vineyards, what has made significant strides in the characteristics of wines. Today winery Lyafon-Roche continues to produce high-quality wines, carefully tending the vineyards and continuing the tradition of their ancestors.
