The wine is made from one of the most famous grape varieties - Chardonnay, harvested from vineyards located in the area of Chassagne-Montrachet in the Cote de Beaune on clay-calcareous soils. Chassagne part of the name means "the area with oaks" and Montrachet - "naked mountain".
