Wine Charles Thomas Aloxe-Corton AOC 2007 is made from Pinot Noir from vineyards located in the area of Aloxe-Corton in the Côte de Beaune. Word Aloxe, presumably a Gallic man's name, whose root is "Al" is translated as "soil pale color." The second word Corton likely comes from two words - Curtis (meaning in the language of the Franks "estate") and Othonis (the name of the Roman emperor, in whose honor was named the estate).
History of Burgundy winegrowers Tom goes before the revolution, when the family already had its own estate vineyards, as well as manage the estates of other families. This kind of activity is preserved to this day. Big step to expand possessions did Charles Thomas in the first half of the 20th century, bought two additional estate vineyard. His case was continued by his son, bought a number of estates and taking a few leases. Tom also interested in territories outside of Burgundy, so now they have vineyards in the province of Languedoc and in Romania.
Domain Charles Thomas is famous for the fact that their technical and technological winemaking techniques are improving every year. Here are showing real scruples in matters relating to vinification. Each year, apply new methods, which are then transferred into the category of new technologies in winemaking. Studies show that in wines produced in the domain Charles Thomas, with the passage of time is more active polyphenols than other wines that are a direct result of natural winemaking.
