"Rosso di Casanova di Neri Sant'Antimo" - is a synthesis of strong individuality and character of Sangiovese with extremely drinkable quality Colorino, autochthonous grape region Sant'Antimo. The grapes for "Rosso di Casanova di Neri Sant'Antimo" grown in vineyards located just outside the southern boundary of the area of Brunello. The harvest of 2008 started on September 21 and ended on October 12. Grapes passed maceration and fermentation: Sangiovese grapes - for 18 days, Colorino grapes - 9 days. Then the wine is matured in barrels of Slavonian oak up to 17 March 2010, when it was subjected to bottling. Sangiovese is aged in large - on 48 and 72 hectoliters - barrels and Colorino - in small, 6 hectoliters. Deep taste of the wine will develop its own nuances to 2013.
Winery "Casanova di Neri" was founded in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate in Montalcino, in an area famous for excellent conditions for growing grapes and creating great wines. The estate belonged to 35 hectares of vineyards. Gradually Giovanni Neri join him and other lands, so today the winery has a total of about 60 hectares, which are divided into four vineyard: "Petradoniche", which is located in Castelnuovo del Abate, "Le Cetin" in Sant'Angelo in Colle, "Cherretalto" and "Fiesole" to the east, near the farm, in front of Montalcino.
