Distillery Knockdhu, which means "black hill", was built in 1893 by DCL (Distillers Company Limited) at Knock Hill, near the spring source to Knock Hill. Before the economic crisis of the 80s of XX century, whiskey factory Knockdhu was very popular in Scotland. In 1983, the plant was closed for a short time. In 1988 it was bought by the company "Inver House", which resumed production the following year. To avoid confusion with the distillery Knockando, the name was changed to An Cnoc. Winemakers "An Cnoc" proud of the fact that the methods of manufacture of whiskey remained practically the same as 100 years ago, when I first started production. Whiskey is aged in American oak casks from the Sherry and Bourbon. The production line of the plant is small, the most popular are "An Cnoc" 12 and 16 years of aging. Whiskey "An Cnoc" - winner of numerous gold medals at the most prestigious international competitions.
