Wine Almaviva - is one of the most successful examples of a meeting of cultures of France and Chile, Chile offers its own unique soil and climatic conditions for growing grapes, and France brings to the process of creating a long tradition of winemaking. Almaviva takes its name from the name of one of the protagonists of Beaumarchais's comedy "The Marriage of Figaro" and even the word "Almaviva" on the wine label is written handwriting of the great playwright.
Established in 1996, a joint venture between Concha y Tora & Baron Philippe de Rothschild today is engaged in production of only one wine - Almaviva, so its quality is always consistently high. This is evidenced by the worldwide popularity not only wine, but also high marks from the most eminent critics, because since its launch in 1996 Almaviva not obtain an estimate of less than 90 points and won a gold medal at the prestigious competition such as Wine Challenge UK in 1997. Today wine Almaviva Categorised Primer Orden, which is the equivalent of the French Grand Cru.
The entire production process is carried out Almaviva in Puente Alto, where the famous Chilean architect Martin Hurtado in 1998 the winery was built, recognized as the ideal in terms of aesthetic design and functionality. It is here that due to the complicated manufacturing process, comprising a double fermentation and aging for 18 months in new French oak barrels, and is born a great Almaviva. One of the interesting features of Almaviva is that his every vintage is unique and has individual character, as every year oenologists change the percentage of grapes belonging to blend wines.
