Olivier Umbreht - Leonardo son, became the first Frenchman, who qualified as "Master of Wine". He is worthy of taking over the reins from his father. Average yield vineyards in the Domain Zind-Umbreh - 35 hl / ha, which is two times less than traditional indicators of class vineyards Grand Cru. Leonard has always been a supporter of the low yields. His commitment to the best terroirs of Alsace led him to purchase unusual sites "Rangen" and "Clos Windsbuhl", from the acquisition of which other manufacturers refused because of inability to use mechanized equipment there. This problem Leonard quickly decided using earthworks horses. In this act and expressed Umbreht family management style - an unusual approach, precision, foresight, unconditional respect and love for the quality of their work.
