The wine has a sweet fruity taste with a rich palette of shades of red and black fruit, complicates the nuances of smoke and underbrush and a long aftertaste.
Wine with amazing deep aroma on the background of pronounced notes of red (raspberry, cherry) and black (currant) fruit, complexity bouquet adds a touch of musk and smoke.
The wine is well suited to the hot or cold appetizers, dishes of poultry or game, and cheeses (especially covered with noble rot).
For the first time the name of Vosne-Romanee found in ancient documents of the XVII century, when the region belonged to the monks of the Abbey of Saint-Vivant. Even in those days vineyards were widespread fame, and unrivaled wines Vosne-Romanée highly valued by the court of King Louis XV. But grape economy has suffered greatly from the Austrian occupation in the years 1814-1815, and during the Franco-Prussian War in 1870, almost fell into disrepair. Phylloxera epidemic and the two World Wars caused an indelible damage once thriving vineyards.
In 1868, the owner of vineyards in Vosne-Romanée became winemaker François Leroy, and his son Joseph and his wife Louise have expanded the family business, returning to its former glory legendary Vosne-Romanee. Their colossal work was highly marked by several large gold medals and awards: in Brussels in 1897, in Dijon in 1898, La Rochelle in 1911. In 1919, the winery has inherited Henri Leroy. For 40 years, he gave himself entirely beloved work. Because of his intelligence, professionalism and love for the tradition of winemaking, connoisseurs all over the world have received, unprecedented gift - wine, which the French call themselves "fleuron de la Bourgogne" or "the pearl of Burgundy." After the death of Henry in 1980, Domaine Leroy led his daughter Lalu Bizet-Leroy, who supported the family tradition and introduced biodynamic methods of cultivation of vines.
To date, Domaine Leroy remains on top of the popularity and fame, producing legendary wines that truly has no equal.
