Wine Volpaia Coltassala Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2006 made from grape varieties Sangiovese and Mammolo collected from vines growing on sandy soils rich in limestone. Vintage 2006 has turned mature, with excellent sugar content and polyphenols, as well as excellent flavor. Wines Castello di Volpayya 2006 have a more intense color, rich flavor, good texture and remarkable potential exposure.
Volpaya Castle (Castello di Volpaia) was built in the eleventh century, far from strengthening in order to create on the border of Florence and Siena. At present, there remain only two of the six ancient towers and part of the original defensive walls surrounding the castle. And yet, the location of buildings in the village of Volpaia and their walls are perfectly preserved virtually intact. In addition, Volpaia - it is also the name of the famous family.
